Rhythm is the framework of all music
Every instrument at Anthem gets taught on top of rhythm - but for drummers, rhythm is the instrument. Our drum students learn the same musical framework as our guitarists and pianists: time signatures, note durations, patterns, and song form. The difference is they live inside it. A drummer who understands why a groove works - not just how to copy it - can sit down with any band, any song, any style, and hold it together.
Lessons are built around each student. Young beginners start with the coordination and stick control their hands are ready for; teens and adults often come in wanting to play along with the music they love, and we build toward exactly that.

What students build
Beginners work from pad and snare fundamentals into basic kit grooves - the rock and pop patterns behind most of the music they know. From there: fills, dynamics, reading rhythm notation, odd meters, and different styles. The consistent thread is playing with music early and often, because keeping time with a real song teaches what no isolated exercise can.
